FAQ

  • What should I expect?

If you are a new client, before your appointment you will fill out your Health Intake Form - outlining your goals, comfort preferences, general health information and areas needing attention. Don’t worry if you forget something, you will be able to consult with your therapist before your session begins! The health intake form page will also list all policies regarding cancellations, late arrivals, behavior, etc.

    Arrive 10-15 Minutes Early

This gives you time to settle in, breathe, and begin relaxing before your session begins.

    Mini Consultation

After arriving you will be guided to your treatment room and the therapist will ask questions about how you are feeling that day and try to get a sense of what issues you have been dealing with to know how to best help you during your session.

    Your Preferences Matter

Your session is just that- YOURS. Your comfort and preferences are not just important but essential to being able to receive bodywork that benefits you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Any concern you share before, during, or after your session will be addressed so you can fully relax and enjoy your session.

Always feel free to share things like:

    -desired pressure

    -areas to avoid

    -specific tension spots

-whether you prefer silence or conversation

    -comfort needs (temperature, bolstering, positioning)

-if this is your first massage and you have concerns, are nervous about something specific, or want a break down of how your session will flow

    Instructions

After your discussion, your therapist will tell you what clothing/ jewelry to remove once they leave (typically you will need to remove necklaces, and can always keep your underwear on). The therapist will instruct you on how to lay on the massage table and ask you if you have any other questions before they leave the room giving you a few minutes to get situated.

While you wait for your therapist to return its always nice to give yourself a chance to take some deep full breaths and calm your mind. Leaving your to-do lists and worries outside of the treatment room, this time you set to be here is solely for you and your wellness.

Your therapist will knock to see if you are ready before entering the treatment room again.

    During Session

Make sure you always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable or want to change things during your session. TRUST ME - your therapist is able and happy to adjust to your comfort and needs. Massage Therapists are trained and educated in their craft and will let you know if they have reached their own limitations. We prefer you tell us if something is not to your liking instead of finishing your session without getting the care you needed.

    Draping for Comfort & Privacy

You’ll always be professionally draped. Only the area being worked on is uncovered, keeping you comfortable at all times.

    After Session

Your therapist will let you know your session is over and leave the room so you can take a few minutes to gather yourself and then make your way back to the front lobby (or the restroom if needed). Your therapist will check you out at the counter and will go over anything you wish to discuss about your session, offer any related advice for your particular issues, recommend treatment schedule if necessary, and offer to rebook your next session.

If you have any questions or concerns about your session feel free to ask your therapist. If you are blissfully brain-fogged you can always call, message, or email later.

  • How should I prepare?

    What to wear

You can wear whatever you are comfortable in. Usually loose-fitting clothing that is easy and comfortable to take off and put back on are best.

    Prior to session

It can be uncomfortable to lay down on a full belly so try having a lighter meal if you are eating before your session.

Make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive. The address is located on all of your communication texts and emails as well as on the website and google listing. GPS can be quickly accessed through the Google listing by clicking the Directions button. If you have trouble finding it just give us a call.

    Post session

It’s always good to drink alot of water after massage sessions. We have just given your muscles a sort of passive workout and you will want to hydrate them.

*You will not receive an overly firm massage without having requested that specifically. Depending on the work that was done in your session it’s possible you may experience muscle soreness. Though you may not have any, it can be normal for deeper work to have soreness lasting a few days. In a healthy body it should not be too painful and you should recover quickly.
